A Sanctuary of Peace in the Heart of Brownsburg-Chatham
The development of our sanctuary is a pivotal step. This project, driven by the energy of brotherhood and mutual respect, aims to create a unique space for practice in Quebec. At the heart of this vision lies the creation of a space for contemplative practice that synthesizes the Nyingma, Shangpa, and Shingon lineages, thus offering a rare bridge between these ancestral traditions in a simple and inspiring natural setting.
1. The Grounding: Land Acquisition
The genesis of this project rests on a vision. After meditating throughout Quebec, our Guru received clear signs during his first retreat in Brownsburg-Chatham. The energy of the place and the welcoming nature of the land confirmed that this is where our permanent retreat should be established.
The Vision of Rocky Land
Unlike conventional projects, we seek the power of the earth itself. The Guru envisioned a site dotted with large boulders—a place perhaps "inaccessible" to some, but perfect for the depth of our practice.
"Where the stone reigns, the spirit soars unhindered."
Our acquisition strategy is divided into two phases:
Phase A (Priority): Purchase of a 55,423-square-foot lot. This initial parcel will be the heart of our initial presence. Our research has led us to a specific plot that seems to perfectly embody the Guru's vision. We are currently in the process of acquiring this location. However, true to our open-minded approach, we remain flexible and ready to consider other opportunities in the Brownsburg-Chatham area should fate guide us to land better suited to our mission.
Phase B (Expansion): Acquisition of an adjacent lot of approximately 95,000 square feet to preserve tranquility and expand the sanctuary.
We are committed to establishing this place in a spirit of fraternity with the neighborhood, practicing mutual respect and absolute discretion.
2. The Manifestation: Construction and Development
Once the first plot of land is acquired, we will bring the vision to life through structures that respect the environment and tradition.
Sector 1: The Heart of Practice
On the first plot, we will build the foundations of our community:
The Retreat Hut: A minimalist and sacred space dedicated exclusively to the Guru's practice.
The Members' Pavilion: A modest building intended to accommodate the 8 founding members of the non-profit organization during our work and meditation meetings.
Sector 2: The Sacred Garden (Shingon Inspiration)
On the second plot, we will create an atmosphere inspired by Japanese Shingon temples:
Shrines and Statues: Spiritual anchor points scattered among the rocks.
The Purification Fountain (Tsukubai): For the ritual of passage.
The Great Bell: Whose sound will mark the rhythm of the day.
Temple Recreation: An architectural space reminiscent of the refinement and serenity of esoteric Buddhist temples.
Ekākī-Kuṭīra : The Solitary Meditation Hut
Trikāya-Mandira : The Temple of the Three Bodies
The central shrine for the unified teachings of Padmasambhava, Niguma, and Kūkai.
Saṅgha-Vihāra : The Saṅgha Lodge
Amṛta-Kūpa : The Well of Amṛta (Purification Basin)
Vajra-Ghaṇṭā-Stambha : The Vajra Bell Pillar
Kṣitigarbha-Pratima : The Kṣitigarbha Statue
Aṣṭa-Siddhi-Patha (numéro 9 sur la droite) : The Trail
Dharma-Dvāra: The Door of Dharma
Uccuṣma-Kuṭīra (numéro 9 sur la gauche) : The Uccuṣma Hut (Purifier of Defilements)

The creation of this sanctuary is a journey we are undertaking together. Every stone laid and every tree preserved depends on the strength of our community. Your contributions are not simply numbers in a budget; they are the breath that makes our bells ring. The sooner we receive funding, the sooner we can secure the land and begin the sacred construction. Your generosity sets the rhythm of our event. As an NGO, your support allows us to remain true to the Guru's uncompromising vision, building a place that belongs to the lineage and the brotherhood. Participating in the funding is planting a seed in a meditation garden that will serve future generations.
